Melissa Gold (Mrs. Ari) is Ari Gold's long-suffering wife and the mother of their children. She is strong enough to stand up to Ari's intimidating personality, and is in charge of the homestead. Mrs. Gold is a tennis-playing Beverly Hills society woman.

Personality[]

She is often seen as exasperated and at times, tough. She is often seen as sympathetic, however, because she so often puts up with Ari putting work before family. She is also portrayed as very sexy, which is often humorous when Ari passes up sex with her in order to answer his phone.

Early life[]

Mrs. Gold has a sizable trust fund from her wealthy father, which her husband dipped into in Season Three to start his new talent agency. Season 3 also revealed that Ari met his wife in college, when he was a member of Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT), a traditionally Jewish fraternity.

Mrs. Gold was a former soap actress, playing Kendall Scott on the soap opera the Young and the Restless. She stopped acting at age 25 because she wanted a family.

Mrs. Gold has a sister who apparently didn't get a sizable trust since she is in debt after her husband left.

Season One[]

Ari tells Mrs. Ari that his job takes care of her deadbeat brother. She is seen having couples counseling with Ari, which is interrupted by Eric Murphy.

Season Three[]

Season Four[]

Season Five[]

Season Six[]

Season Five[]

The producer of Y&R calls her one day for a day arc comeback. She was then offered a full-time role, but turns it down.

Notes[]

  • Mrs. Gold is a recurring guest star in the first 3 seasons and a credited star in the intro of Season 4.
  • She is often referred to as "Ari's Wife" and had no first name until the third to last show of the series.
  • In episode eight of season seven ("Sniff Sniff Gang Bang"), it is discovered that her first name is Melissa.
